But it’s glittery enough to look quite at home at a New Year’s party, too.
No matter what the occasion, this drink easily adds to the festivities.
The holiday season is a great time for gingerbread, and with this tasty cocktail, you don’t have to stop at cakes and cookies.
Just remember that this sweet and creamy treat is boozy and can go to your head.
Drink cautiously.
After all, you don’t want to end up on Santa’s naughty list!
Homemade gingerbread syrup is a great gift
Our recipe uses a homemade gingerbread syrup.
We like to make the syrup a head of time since it will keep in the fridge for two weeks.
If you want it to last longer than that, add a splash of vodka to the syrup after it cools.
And while you’re at it, make some extra homemade gingerbread syrup to give as a thoughtful homemade gift!
Gingerbread Syrup:
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tbsp. molasses
- 1 tsp. minced ginger
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
Ingredients to make the drink:
- 2 oz Vodka
- 1 1/2 oz Kahlua
- 2 oz Homemade Gingerbread Syrup
- 2 oz Heavy Cream
- Optional: Cinnamon sticks and gingerbread cookies, for garnish
- Optional: Ground Cinnamon, for the glass
Note: The homemade gingerbread syrup really adds a lot to this drink.
But there are times when you really want one of these yummy drinks and you want it now.
We get it.
We’re the exact same way.
So if you don’t have time to make the homemade syrup, you may substitute store-bought ginger flavored syrup.
It will still have some of the delicious flavor.
In fact, a lot of it.
It will taste slightly different, but it will still taste really good.
How to Make Gingerbread White Russian Cocktails:
Pre-Steps:
Before you make the drink, you will want to make the homemade gingerbread simple syrup.
If you’ll be putting ground cinnamon on your glasses, you will want to do that before mixing the drink as well.
