Looking for a tasty pick-me-up in the Autumn or Winter? This London Fog Latte is sure to be a hit with anyone who loves coffee or tea. An enticing combination of Earl Grey Tea, Espresso, and sweet vanilla, you’ll be loving the energy boost as much as the delicious flavor. And when you garnish it with a sprig of lavender, it sets off an unbelievable flavor bomb for your happy tastebuds.
Enjoy a London Fog Latte
This recipe makes one serving of London Fog Latte. But if you want to serve it for a holiday gathering or party, you can easily multiply this recipe to make sure everyone gets to enjoy some. It’s a lovely way to energize after a big meal. After all, you don’t want anyone missing out on the evening festivities because they had to head to bed early.
One more thing I really enjoy about this London Fog Latte – it’s really unique . . . and has a “classy” air about it. Perhaps it is the Earl Grey – so quintessentially British. When you sip it, don’t be surprised if your pinky suddenly lifts into the air “just so.” And if you develop a sudden craving for Bangers and Mash, that’s okay, too!
Ingredients you need to make a London Fog Latte:
- 2 tablespoons Vanilla Simple Syrup
- 2 oz Espresso
- 4 oz Earl Grey Tea
- 2 oz Milk, frothed
- Optional: sprig of lavender for garnish
If you plan to froth the milk, you will need a frother. If you don’t have one, we really like this handheld milk frother.
Note: If you really love adding a deliciously fragrant aromatic to your drinks, we also enjoy substituting the vanilla simple syrup for a lavender simple syrup. There’s a particularly delicious lavender syrup from the Sonoma Syrup Company that’s a really nice addition or substitution for this recipe.
How to Make a London Fog Latte:
When you brew your tea and espresso, if you can do that at the same time so that they are done at about the same time, your drink will taste better. You want both drinks to be hot before adding the simple syrup and frothed milk.
Pre-Steps:
Before making the latte itself, you will want to brew the tea and the espresso.
Make the drink:
- Place vanilla simple syrup in tall cup.
- Pour the Earl Grey Tea into your cup over the vanilla.
- Add one shot of espresso and froth milk.
- Top with milk and froth. Serve!
- Optional: Garnish with a sprig of lavender.
More delicious hot beverages to enjoy:
A London Fog Latte is an absolutely delicious way to enjoy both your favorite tea and espresso. And if you like, you can garnish it with a lavender sprig.
